What is a temporary FIBA 3x3 profile

Modified on Wed, 20 May, 2020 at 9:26 AM

A temporary FIBA 3x3 profile is a way for players or organizers to register their teammate to the event, with the (1) explicit permission of such player and (2) the intent of claiming the event playing record to the player's official FIBA 3x3 Profile later.

For the purpose of players being later claiming such player record to their activity log, the following information is collected

  • First Name
  • Last Name
  • Hometown
  • Nationality
  • Birthdate

The player who wants to claim a playing record of a temporary profile to their FIBA 3x3 Profile should request profile merging.

In the case of non-matching data, do note that FIBA user support may ask you to provide supporting evidence that the profiles to be merged are indeed of the same person and belong to you. Be aware that all merge requests are tracked and can be rolled back. Claiming somebody else's profiles is a sanctionable violation of the FIBA 3x3 Terms & Conditions.

You can recognize the temporary profiles in play.fiba3x3.com player directory as the player name is obfuscated (e.g. J*** S****).

There is no contact information recorded in connection with temporary profiles.
